QUESTION POSED ON: 05 March 2007
Should I encourage my customers to buy new equipment for the upgrade to IPv6?

>

It's hard to give a definitive answer without knowing what kind of equipment your customer is currently using, but in general it's probably not necessary. IPv6 is designed to be more efficient than IPv4 in terms of processing power required, so performance degradation shouldn't be an issue. This assumes, of course, that the current equipment supports IPv6.
