An ideal virtual private network (VPN) maintains privacy while still using the shared public infrastructure to provide remote office or individual access to your client's network. Products from the vendors below include a wide range of VPN offerings, including IP security, SSL, firewall and wired or wireless options. PARTNER CHECKLIST: ADTRAN-----------------------------------------------------------

Adtran's NetVanta 2000 Series includes VPN/firewall appliances such as NetVanta 2050 and 2054 telecommuter appliances and NetVanta 2100 for business-to-business, small-office and home-office communications. Products in the NetVanta 2000 series include IPSec VPN tunneling, access policies, inspection firewalls, network address translation, IP routing and remote access.

PARTNER CHECKLIST: ARRAY NETWORKS---------------------------------------------

Array Networks offers SiteDirect site-to-site SSL VPN and AccessDirect remote access SSL VPN on a single SPX Series platform. AccessDirect allows users to access the VPN from any browser-based device, while SiteDirect enables application publishing to Extranet sites on a white-list basis.

Check Point's unified security offerings include VPN-1 Power, VPN-1 Mass and VPN-1 Power VSX, in addition to Check Point's UTM-1 appliances, which integrate firewall and VPN services under unified threat management.

PARTNER CHECKLIST: CISCO SYSTEMS--------------------------------------------------

Cisco Systems offers Cisco Easy VPN Remote, allowing Cisco routers and security appliances to configure through a single VPN connection, and Cisco Easy VPN Server, which channels security policies site-to-site from central to remote devices. Cisco VPN Client works with Cisco Easy features to implement IP security in large remote access deployments. Cisco also offers its ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security appliances and a variety of VPN integrated switch/router services.

IBM Lotus Mobile Connect provides a VPN for enterprises to encrypt data through wired and wireless networks. Additionally, the AIX version 6.1 operating system provides new virtualization features and expands on the capabilities of IBM's AIX 5L OS. AIX 6.1 runs on IBM POWER6 technology.

PARTNER CHECKLIST: JUNIPER NETWORKS---------------------------------------------

Juniper Networks offers an integrated firewall/IPSec VPN for enterprises and service providers, in addition to the Secure Access SSL VPN appliance line for employee and partner remote access. Juniper Networks SSL VPN products range from Juniper Networks Secure Access 700 (for small to midsized companies) to Juniper Networks Secure Access 6500 (for large enterprises and service providers).

Netgear offers ProSafe products including wired and wireless VPN security appliances, as well as the ProSafe SSL VPN Concentrator that delivers clientless Web-based remote access.

PARTNER CHECKLIST: OVISLINK------------------------------------------------------------

Ovislink offers OvisGate 2.0 SSL VPN software, which uses a browser-based interface and SSL encryption to work with most standard user authentication methods and a separate database managed by the OvisGate software. Ovislink's VPN hardware includes the WMU/MU-9000VPN Multimedia and VPN Server Center, a RISC-based workstation router with an FTP server, IP security, PPTP VPN server and 4-port USB 2.0 Print Server. The 9000VPN center includes both wireless and wired models.

Secure Computing offers small and medium-sized businesses its Secure SnapGear multifunctional security appliance. SnapGear can function solely as a firewall, a VPN gateway, a UTM appliance or deploy as a full network for wired and wireless small businesses.

PARTNER CHECKLIST: SYMANTEC----------------------------------------------------------

Symantec offers Mobile VPN 5.1, integrating its IPSec VPN client with Cisco and Nortel VPN gateways. Mobile VPN 5.1 also includes RSA Security SecurID, smart card and certificate VPN authentication, and integration with the Symantec Mobile Security Suite.

PARTNER CHECKLIST: WATCHGUARD------------------------------------------------------

WatchGuard offers unified threat management appliances with VPN functionality, including its Firebox X e-Series security appliances and WatchGuard SSL 500 and SSL 1000.
