The company sent out an advisory saying the flaw affects other vendors as well, including Dell Computers, Sony AVIO notebooks, ASUS computers and others.
The attacker would need to be within 10 meters and have the Bluetooth address of the victim to make the exploit work. Bluetooth addresses can be picked up easily by scanning for their signals.
To reduce the risk, SecureWorks recommended users set their Bluetooth devices to non-discoverable model. Toshiba has made a fix available at itsBluetooth Web site..
